when we organised the Vienna Future Symposium the first time in 2002 - to honour the 60th anniversary of Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. V. Vécsei - nobody of us thought that this International Symposium would be of that success. However, hundreds of attendants came every year from Austria - and to a greater extent from many other nations. But, as it is impossible to present innovative ideas year for year, I decided to organize the Future Symposium every second year.

The next symposium will take place February 8^th - 10^th, 2007.

The main topic of Joint replacement in Traumatology covers the interests of most orthopaedic trauma surgeon as our patients are getting older and older. Key note lectures of experienced specialist are planned.

Side topics are: New methods and techniques in trauma surgery covering new implants, materials, techniques, biotechnology etc. We are very interested in submissions that may present only few patient data, but new and innovative ideas - as the Future Symposium intends to offer young scientists a podium for innovative ideas.
